Refraction Media has been shortlisted for three awards in the prestigious Publish Australia Awards. The team, who produce the successful Careers with STEM series – distributed quarterly to schools across Australia, New Zealand and the USA – also produce custom magazines such as the Co-operative Research Centres Association magazine, KnowHow, and INGENUITY, the magazine of the UNSW Engineering faculty, as well as websites, apps, animations and VR content.

Refraction’s mission is to inspire a smart future through innovative content solutions.

The awards shortlist includes:

> Best Small Publisher 2017

> Best launch/relaunch of a magazine (INGENUITY)

> Best single article (‘Quantum Gamble, INGENUITY magazine, by Wilson daSilva)

The awards will be announced in November 2017.

INGENUITY is a new annual publication, styled as a popular science magazine, which seeks to apply a journalistic feature-based review of the best research and innovation undertaken in the preceding year at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of New South Wales in Sydney.

Careers with STEM is Refraction’s flagship publication series and includes a careers hub, posters, teacher resources and four quarterly magazines: Careers with Code, Careers with Maths, Careers with Engineering and Careers with Science/Health. Each year 500,000 magazines are distributed to schools across three countries, thanks to partnerships with Google, Commonwealth Bank and other leading industry and university partners.
